Cheques should be made payable to “Plateau Perspectives,” and a specific fund should be designated if desired. All donations are tax-deductible in Canada and gift aid can be claimed in the United Kingdom.
Plateau Perspectives is an international non-profit organization that aims to promote conservation and community development in the Tibetan Plateau region, the Himalayas, and the mountains of Central Asia.
Plateau Perspectives has worked for over 20 years to improve community health, basic education and environmental protection throughout the Tibetan Plateau region, initially with special focus on Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. These efforts have resulted in the construction of more than a dozen medical clinics, training of nearly 200 village doctors, building village schools, and participatory conservation with herding communities to protect endangered wildlife such as snow leopard. Most recently, Plateau Perspectives has begun to work in Bhutan (Himalayas) and Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia).
